Robert Edward Lee was born in Stratford, Virginia on January 19, 1807. His father died when he was a boy. He came to know the Lord at a very young age when he was a teenager. At the age of 18 years old to 22 years old, Robert Edward Lee attended the West Point Military Academy. He also served during the Mexican War when he was 39 years old for 2 years. In 1861, Robert Lee resigned his commission in the United States Army to join the Confederate Army and to take command of the army of Nothern Virginia. 4 years later in April, Sir Robert Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Courthouse. Although Sir Robert Lee died in 1870, many people respected him as the world's great soldier and model man.
