George MacDonald was born in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. George sought to make a living on the windswept, hilly, and rocky land in the north. When George was 21, he graduated from King's College Aberdeen. George's city also was often shrouded in mist, rain, and clouds for much of each year's short growing season. He started to write poems for the Lord since he was young. In 1851, George married Louisa Powell. She gave him eleven delightful children. Few months later, George published his first collection of poems for the Lord. 2 years later, George embarked on full-time writing poems for a few decades. He helped many people in his city accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. In 1881, George began to spend part of each year in Italy due to poor health. But his faith in God was strong, and he continued to write poems. In 1905, George MacDonald passed away in England as he was publishing poems there. Through his writing, preaching, and teaching, he passed this love of Christ to countless others on both sides of the Atlantic.
